Chiropractors are doctors of chiropractic. Having trained for six years they are required to continue to update their knowledge and attend vital chiropractic seminars. To practice legally as a chiropractor in South Africa, chiropractors must be registered with the Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa. The Chiropractic Association of South Africa (CASA) is the professional body representing over 90% of registered chiropractors in South Africa.

While chiropractic is a drug free healing alternative for neuro muscular skeletal complaints, your doctor of chiropractic is trained to complement the work of other medical specialists. And will recommend consultation with the appropriate specialist if he or she considers it necessary and in the best interest of the patient.

Dr. Vinesh Vaghmaria is a Chiropractor with a Master’s Degree in Chiropractic having graduated from the Durban University of Technology. He has a special interest is in myofascial pain, or pain arising from the muscular structures, more commonly known as trigger points or “knots” and he has completed a thesis on the topic. The aim is to get the client functioning at his or her optimal level, pain-free and with a good range of movement. Techniques used for treatment include individualised spinal manipulation, joint adjustment and dry needling of myofascial trigger points.

Vinesh aims to help clients with his relaxed yet focused approach. He focuses on the diagnosis, management and treatment of neuro-musculo-skeletal conditions, including: back ache, sports injuries, headaches, neck pain, whiplash, muscular pain, arthritis and joint pain as well as pregnancy-related back pain.

His experience includes working as the team chiropractor for Kwazulu Natal Premier League Rugby team Jaguars.

Vinesh has now been in private practice at the Sports Performance and Rehabilitation Centre (SPARC) for the past 13 years.
